Enrollment Step 2 - Apply for Financial Aid

• Prior to starting the FAFSA, you will first create your FSA ID at studentaid.gov.
• Once you have your FSA ID you will then begin completing your FAFSA at fafsa.gov. The program will walk you through the process.
• When prompted, use Greenville Technical College’s school code – 003991 – so that the results will be sent directly to us.

• The FAFSA must be submitted to receive all federal aid, SC Lottery Tuition Assistance, and most scholarships.
• You should complete the FAFSA every academic year that you need help paying for college (academic year includes Fall, Spring, and Summer terms).
• The FAFSA is available every year beginning October 1.

You will receive an email from GTC’s Financial Aid office once we have received your FAFSA.

• If you have already been accepted to GTC, check your student Gmail account.
• If you have not yet been accepted please check the email account you used when submitting the FAFSA.

Read this email carefully as it will tell you if there are any further steps you may need to complete.

Submit your FAFSA by the following GTC Priority dates in order to receive financial aid before the tuition payment deadline:

Fall – May 1
Spring – October 1
Summer – February 1

For in-person assistance with the FAFSA, visit the computer lab in the Student Success Center (Bldg 102) on the Barton campus.
